Video Server - Digital Video Playback - Introduction |
|
Quite simply, a video server is a computer specially equipped to play video. BCD builds and configures multi-channel video server systems on a custom basis to meet specific client requirements.
Call BCD or use our QuickInfo form to get details for your next project.

Strictly speaking, BCD's DVD-1150HDD DVR / DVD Recorder is not a video server, it does offer a 250GB hard disk drive digita video recorder for recording & playback, RS-232 & USB control, and optionally, BCD's OutloadTM File Transfer System to move your video files to your PC.

The Omniplex is one of the premiere science museums in the United States. BCD is pleased to have been selected to build and deliver the 8-channel video server for the OmniDome IwerksTM IMAXTM and Omniplex Science Museum in Oklahoma City, OK.
|
|
BCD's Video Server (shown at the left of the Projection Room) provides 8 channels of video and stereo audio for showing video associated with both the OmniDome Theatre and the Omniplex Museum. Distribution is via in-house RF cable system.
The Server feeds monitors located throughout the Omniplex as well as the video wall at the OmniDome entrance.

The system delivers MPEG-2 (and some MPEG-1) video through 8 independent channels from ultra-fast drives, operated via RS-232 from Crestron touch controllers located both in the projection room and in the Master Control Booth above the theatre.
BCD Video Servers are availble with control via RS-232, LAN with our simple client program, and with a TCP/IP web browser control interface.
