Hand-Held Keypads for BCD Controllers |
Sometimes you need a hand-held keypad to control your machine, but circumstances prohibit using the IR remote. BCD Keybads connect to BCD pushbutton contrllers to provide up to 16 function buttons, depending on the controller. Our hand-held pushbutton remotes are custom-made for your project.

VC-B12 12-Button Keypad for BCD-C7 Controllers
One client has a Panasonic DMR-E80 DVD recorder with a BCD-C7 controller. The system is used in an aircraft and performs well. The only rub was that the client needed more than 7 functions on the wired remote.
With a little creativity and some firmware modifications, BCD created a little matrix keypad with 12 buttons. Now the client is happy and so are we!
Thanks to the Flash programmability of the BCD-C7 controller, the client's existing firmware can be updated via a download from this website.
The clear keycaps are removable so our clients can add any nomenclature or labels required. This is important because all keys are programmable and you may decide that different keys should perform different functions or macros.

BCD Controllers may be individually addressed from a single serial port. The "DECK 3" command selects machine #3. All subsequent commands go to that machine. We can use a VC-16a to accept button presses, then send discrete commands to individual machines (DVD-C7 players & recorders, VC-16b, VC-16a, and SB-100. Custom BCD programming is often required.
