BCD Controllers may be individually addressed from a single serial port. The "DECK 3" command selects machine #3. All subsequent commands go to that machine. We can use a VC-16a to accept button presses, then send discrete commands to individual machines (DVD-C7 players & recorders, VC-16b, VC-16a, and SB-100. Custom BCD programming is often required.
Zapex R.I.P
After five years in the MPEG-2 encoder business, Brother International has closed its Zapex division. We regret this, because Zapex encoders produce very good pictures, even at low to moderate bitrates, and they offer real-time Dolby Digital AC-3 audio encoding. Stay tuned -- we'll keep you advised.
