Multiple Machines
One Controller
Several of our clients (Brandspeak, Jim Stafford Theatre, London Metropolitan Police) needed to control many (up to 12) machines with a single button push. The VC-16b can control many machines of the same model... sll machines do the same thing.

Multiple Machines Multiple Controllers
Multiple SB-100 Controllers at NASA Ames Laboratory BCD Controllers may be individually addressed from a single serial port. The "DECK 3" command selects machine #3. All subsequent commands go to that machine. We can use a VC-16a to accept button presses, then send discrete commands to individual machines (DVD-C7 players & recorders, VC-16b, VC-16a, and SB-100. Custom BCD programming is often required.

Client Comments - Solid State Players
"GREAT - thanks- you came through !"
   -- Nutmeg Exhibits

Nutmeg Exhibits, Windsor CT, needed pushbutton control of a video exhibit with three video segments.   Nutmeg had already constructed the exhibit and the buttons were installed.  BCD's VC-16b DVD controller was the natural choice, but there has always been the problem of DVD players needing to be replaced after about a year.

For this project, BCD suggested a Solid State Video Player with pushbutton control. Project Manager Ian Clifford sent the museum's DVD to BCD for conversion. In the process, BCD created an Attract Loop made from segments of each of the three videos.  The words "Press Button for Video" appear from time to time in the Attract Loop.

In operation, the Attract Loop plays until someone presses one of the three buttons.  That video plays and then the Attract Loop resumes.

Simple, straightforward, long lasting, low maintenance.
