Multiple Machines Multiple Controllers
Multiple SB-100 Controllers at NASA Ames Laboratory BCD Controllers may be individually addressed from a single serial port. The "DECK 3" command selects machine #3. All subsequent commands go to that machine. We can use a VC-16a to accept button presses, then send discrete commands to individual machines (DVD-C7 players & recorders, VC-16b, VC-16a, and SB-100. Custom BCD programming is often required.

Button Alternatives

  • Aim a laser pointer at a photocell to trigger your DVD. 10 photocells = 10 buttons = 10 DVD Menu Items.
  • Use a Motion Detector to trigger the DVD
  • Use a Magnetic Reed Switch (like on doors and windows of a security systm). An object with a magnet will trigger the DVD.
  • Touch Screens. We sell them, too. Great for using different DVDs and presentations with several different menus.
  • Click here for more details.
